Readings, Book Signings, Etc.

“This program was unique—fascinating! The two authors and the music all tied in together in remarkable ways for an outstanding presentation—one of the best author events of the many I have attended.”—Audience member, Roseau (MN) Public Library

Erin often does public readings and signing appearances accompanied by her husband, Irish musician Paddy O'Brien. Paddy plays amazing Irish traditional music on two-row button accordion, and can also talk about and read from his recent memoir, THE ROAD FROM CASTLEBARNAGH, about growing up in rural Ireland in the 1950s and 60s.

If you would like Erin to speak at your bookstore, university, writer's conference, book club, book club, book festival or other gathering, please contact her here.

THE BOOK OF KILLOWEN and THE ROAD FROM CASTLEBARNAGH
Memoirs, Music, Manuscripts & Mystery!
As people, places, and artifacts from the past come alive through projected images, Paddy plays a few tunes on button accordion and offers tales of his adventures growing up in a thatched house in rural Ireland, with no electricity or running water, when music and stories around the fire were still the main form of entertainment. Erin sings a medieval hymn to Saint Brigid, and spins the story of her latest novel, a knotty mystery inspired by a true discovery: a 9th-century book of Psalms preserved in an Irish bog. Questions from the audience are welcome!
